• Her name is inspired by the Japanese tale "Ebira-no-Ume" (the Quiver Plum Tree/The Plum Blossom in the Quiver) which describes a warrior who is not only a man of valor, but also a man who understands subtle beauties. Ebira means quiver, and kaoru means fragrance.
• She was a member of the twelfth group of Bambies (1975-76).
• Her name in the Wakayagi style of Japanese dance is Wakayagi Shinobu (若柳吉信代).
